On September 29, 2023, the CSU TBIs (Technology Business Incubators), specifically BizNEST and CVLTBI, collaborated with the SINAG Cagayan Valley Consortium to host the AgriXcelerate Innovation Challenge 2023: Accelerating Digital Innovations for Agriculture Pitching Competition. The event, held at the TBI Office, 2F RDE Building, Cagayan State University - Andrews Campus, aimed to provide a comprehensive view of the digital agriculture field, inspire inventive solutions, and enhance global competitiveness in agriculture. Sixteen teams, consisting of 56 BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering students from Cagayan State University - Carig Campus, presented their digital solutions to address agricultural challenges. With the support of the expert panels and the Vice President for Research Development and Extension, the event showcased a commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the agriculture sector.
The pitching competition covered diverse areas such as Precision Agriculture, Food Technology, Robotics and Automation, Marketplace and E-Commerce Platforms, Machine Learning and AI, and Internet of Things (IoT). Team AgriDREAMS emerged as the Champion, with Team CACAOYANIN, AFG Tech, Team Insect Combat, and Team Pataba securing other top positions. The winners, along with five other standout teams, gained access to post- bootcamp support, including a six-month free incubation program, ongoing mentorship, networking opportunities, and industry partnerships to scale their solutions. The event highlighted the significance of youth innovation in shaping the future of technology and agriculture, emphasizing the need for resilience and adaptability in this dynamic landscape.
