Patent protection and licensing agreements play vital roles in securing innovators' rights and providing incentives for further research and development. Additionally, strategic partnerships with venture capitalists, accelerators, and corporate investors help startups and research institutions navigate the complex path from concept to commercialization.
Successful technology commercialization drives industry advancements. Government policies, university technology transfer offices, and public-private collaborations further support this process by providing resources, regulatory guidance, and funding opportunities. Gaps in industry-academia collaboration hinder the transition from research to marketable products, and rapid technological advancements create intense global competition, making it essential for innovators to adapt continuously.
To address this challenge and boost the startup ecosystem in the region, the SINAG Cagayan Valley Consortium, in collaboration with the university’s Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Unit through the Knowledge & Technology Management and Publication Office (KTMPO), will be conducting the SINAG Technology Pitch on March 13, 2025, at the Claude Convention Center, Cagayan State University – Andrews Campus, Caritan Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The theme “Paving the Way for Technology Commercialization”, aims to promote the scalability, commercialization, and industry adoption of innovative technologies developed within the province. It provides a unique platform for local innovators and researchers to showcase their technologies, which have high potential for commercialization, industry application, or further development.
Through this initiative, the consortium accelerates the transformation of laboratory innovations into market-ready products, driving entrepreneurship, generating employment opportunities, and enhancing global technological competitiveness.
